Curious to hear what it’s like working in our Westfield office as a Fulfillment Associate? Take a look at the Q&A below and see how this role has been the perfect fit for our team member, Arinn, as she works her way through grad school.
1. How long have you worked at The Catholic Woodworker as a Fulfillment Associate?
I've worked part-time at TCW since October 2024—so coming up on a year!
2. What inspired you to join The Catholic Woodworker?
As a full-time student, I was looking for work that could help support me while I was in graduate school. I needed a job that was engaging, active, and allowed me to spend time with good people. But I also needed a job that didn't take all my time and energy!
I love the Catholic mission behind the company and the faith-based environment of the office. It's such a hopeful place to go for a few hours every day. I also like that the job requires me to use my organizational skills.
3. What do you love most about this role?
My favorite part of this role is coming in every day and spending time with my coworkers at the office. Most of us work in a common space together where we share stories, collaborate on projects, hear about each other's lives, and sometimes listen to music! (But have no fear, it's also quiet sometimes!!) They are great people to work with.
4. What does a typical work day look like for you?
Typically, I come in each morning at a time that works for my schedule. I check our new orders and get everything organized before starting to ship packages out. Fulfilling and shipping orders can take anywhere from 2-4 hours depending on how busy we are and what day of the week it is. After that, I am free to help on other projects or call it a day and go home!
5. Why would you recommend this position to others?
The Fulfillment Associate position is really flexible, so it has worked well for my time as a student. A few of our roles seem to work well for busy mothers too! I like that I don't have to sit in front of a computer all day at work and I get to be at least a bit active for a few hours.
It's really gratifying to be the last person in the chain of production, which goes from designing the rosary, getting the parts ready, making the rosary, packaging the rosary, and then shipping it to a customer! I love reading comments from grateful customers who want to share their rosary testimonies with us.
