The Built for Battle movement equips men for battle in the modern world. It is centered around the spiritual warfare that men face daily so clearly articulated by St. Paul in his letter to the Ephesians. In chapter 6, he defines the enemy not as "flesh and blood". In other words not our co-workers, neighbors, political opponents, estranged family members, but,
"with the principalities, with the powers, with the world rulers of this present darkness, with the evil spirits in the heavens."
The enemy is satan, our own sins, and the temptations we face each day. St. Paul goes on to identify the weapons we are to arm ourselves with in this fight:
Belt of Truth
Breastplate of Righteousness
Shield of Faith
Helmet of Salvation
Sword of the Spirit
Laced shoes, ready to share the Gospel of peace
Let this shield be a reminder of the commitment we've made to God and our families to be men of faith fighting daily for the Kingdom of God through prayer, the sacraments, regular examination, and accountability from like-minded men.
Shield measures 13 inches tall and has hole on back for hanging with a finish nail. Perfect for:
I have one in my office AND my shop because it's my new favorite thing.
All work was completed by our good friend Michelle from @Rough2Rustic and you'll be blown away by the quality of these shields.
